Ustadz Wildan Pradistya Putra, S. Pd., Gr. Writing for Dakwah and Share an Inspiration

Writing has become a routine for the life journey of Ustadz Wildan Pradistya Putra, S.Pd., Gr. to inspire wider community and students of Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), especially. To be the best is vital, hovewer to be advantageous is more essential for him, therefore, even facing challenges, he never stop to write. Recently, his writings have been published in various local and national mass media such as Malang Post, Media Indonesia, and Republika.

Ustadz Wildan has actively written since he was student in Public University of Malang (UM) in 2011. He was a member of Student Writer Unit (UKMP) and wrote articles, opinions, and short stories. He learns relentlessly about writing through seminars and competition as well.

A teacher of Indonesian language told that to write great writing, published in mass media, is challenging. Once, he has to wait for five years to see his short story published on the mass media. It was not made him desperate and think he has no talent in writing.

His enthusiasm emerged when he realised that it was a process he had to go through as a writer. Many writers have their first writings were published after submitting a dozen or even dozens of articles. So I told you not to give up, keep trying. Read more and continue to improve the quality of your writing, said the eldest of two siblings.

For him, reading is the key to be consistent in writing.  He also tries to manage his time well in some roles, as a teacher, a father, and a student of master program.

Often, he found himself stuck with ideas. In the time, to resolve, he tries to observe surrounding environment and discuss with friends and other writers. Thus, he could find new things or moments he missed to be ideas for writing.

He revealed that the experience of taking students to a writing competition was the most memorable moment.  One of them was when he succeeded in delivering Tazkia IIBS students to win a national short story writing competition held by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) in 2015. Likewise, when his students managed to pass the selection of the Youth Parliament of the DPR RI 2020.

It is interesting to share failures I have been through with students. I would teach them writing process based on my personal experience, he said.

Ustadz Wildan would foster his writing skills and publish more writing in the national mass media.  Especially, those that have never published his work.  In addition, he would examine his writing skills by participating in various national competitions.

Not many institutions appreciate achievements of their human resources.  All praise be to Allah, Tazkia pays special attention to achievements of its staffs, he concluded.  (nai / lil)
