Thursina IIBS Strengthens Global Educational Bridges with Zanzibar

Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) reaffirmed its role in the global education arena through the Thursina Inspiring Education program, a forum for exchange of ideas and best practices designed to inspire Islamic schools in various countries. It is an academic visit by a delegation from the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Tanzania, on Friday, February 6, 2026.

The visit was not merely a diplomatic agenda, but also a strategic dialogue space between countries to discuss the development of globally oriented, inclusive, and sustainable Islamic education. The Tanzanian delegation was welcomed by the leaders of Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd.I. as Chief of Education, Ustaz Imam Awaludin, Lc., M.A., Ph.D., Ustaz Sabar Arifin, S.T., M.M. as Chief of Relation & Enrollment Office, Ustaz Mohamat Taufik, M.Ed., and Ustaz Arief Fathurrahman, S.Pd. as Public Relations Manager.

The Tanzanian delegation presented are Hussein Iddi, Saada Mohammed Nassor, Mohamed Ali Mohamed, Dr. Abubakar Makame Fakih, and Amina Salum Khalfan.

In the official session of Thursina Inspiring Education, the two parties discussed a number of strategic issues, including the development of educational infrastructure and dormitories for Quran memorizers, empowering tahfidz curriculum based on modern methods, and the integration of religious and modern sciences as the foundation of future Islamic education.

The Tanzanian delegation specifically showed interest in studying the integrated boarding school model implemented at Thursina IIBS. The model integrates memorization (tahfidz), internationally standardized academics, and character development within a structured, quality-oriented educational management system.

The Chief of Education in Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd.I., emphasized that Thursina Inspiring Education is the institution's commitment to share best practices with the world.

"We view this forum as a strategic collaborative space for mutual learning and strengthening. Thursina aims to be part of a global movement of progressive Islamic education, relevant to the challenges of the times, and capable of educating a generation with character and global competitiveness," explained Ustaz Rajab.

In addition to formal discussions, the Tanzanian delegation participated in a campus tour to observe the academic facilities, dormitory environment, character development system, and institutional governance at Thursina IIBS. It provided a concrete overview of the implementation of an integrated curriculum and a quality standards-based education management system.

Through Thursina Inspiring Education, Thursina IIBS is committed to become not only an educational institution but also a center of inspiration and reference for Islamic schools globally. This collaborative spirit is expected to open opportunities for sustainable collaborations to have a long-term impact on the development of Islamic education in Indonesia, Tanzania, and other countries.
