The spirit and excitement enveloped the Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) on Saturday and Sunday (July 19–20, 2025) as hundreds of new students officially began their academic year. A total of 460 students were accepted this year, both junior high and senior high school levels.
Marketing & Enrollment Manager of Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Abdul Jalil Mursyid, S.Ikom., stated the number consists of 150 male junior high school students, 130 female junior high school students, 100 male senior high school students, and 80 female senior high school students. "We are really grateful for the trust from the guardians. The enthusiasm is growing," he said.
The welcoming agenda for new students involves various activities, including orientation for the guardians, introduction to the environment, and internalization of the core values of Thursina IIBS, summarized in the slogan "You Are The RECODING Generation." RECODING is an acronym for Religious, Caring, Open-Minded, and Inspiring.
"From day one, we introduce students to the values and try to internalize them. They are a young generation who will build the future with morals, knowledge, and leadership," added Ustadz Jalil.
The orientation for parents was held in several batches as part of building synergy between the school and parents. According to the school, the first day in the Islamic boarding school is the starting point for a brighter future.
The new students come from provinces all over Indonesia, including students from Malaysia, showing that the quality of education of Thursina IIBS has received international recognition.
"We hope they will become a golden generation ready to spread their wings, not only nationally but also globally," concluded Ustadz Jalil. (sls/lil)
