Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) once again held the Prophet Muhammad SAW Mawlid Festival 1447 H vibrantly on September 4–8, 2025. Differently from the previous, the event is more lively with a series of competitions, art, and a Virtual Reality (VR) Movie Season experience, coloring a novel atmosphere to the students.
Ustaz Ibadur Rohman, M.Pd., Dip.Ed., as the Takmir of Zahrotul Ummah Mosque (Thursina Female Campus) and the committee, said that the festival was the second year that the Mawlid celebration was held with greater enthusiasm.
"Previously, it was just a collaborative study session with a teacher, but these past two years, we made it more festive. We had competitions and VR, so the students are able to learn, know and love the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)," explained Ustaz Ibad.
The festival involved all students from both male and female campuses. They engaged in various competitions, including Nabawi Theater, Hadith Narration Competition, Sirah Nabawi Quiz, Nasyid Salawat (Salawat), and Taqdimul Qishah (Recitation of the Prophet).
Additionally, the VR adventure provides an immersive experience of the Prophet Muhammad struggle. Meanwhile, the Mawlid study session will be rescheduled to coincide with Isra' Mi'raj to create a more solemn ambience. He hopes, through the event, the students will commemorate and emulate the life of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
"We hope all students can fully participate in the event. They will not only gain exciting experiences but also insight into the history and endeavour of the Prophet Muhammad," concluded Ustaz Ibad. (iz/lil)
