In the blessed atmosphere of Ramadan, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) hosted a Ramadan Iftar Gathering with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Leadership Council of Dau District and the Dau Muspika (Regional Leadership Council). The event, held at the Zahratul Ummah Mosque of Thursina IIBS, served as a strategic gathering opportunity, bringing together religious scholars, government leadership, and educational institutions in a warm and meaningful space.
More than just iftar, the meeting reflects a shared commitment to develop community relations, build mutual trust, and establish collaborative engagement between educational institutions, religious leaders, and policymakers in the Dau District, Malang Regency.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Dau District, K.H. Drs. Abdul Malik, along with a number of prominent religious figures such as K.H. Ahmad Hasanuddin and Kyai Mukhayat. Also, members of the Dau Muspika (Regional Leadership Council), including the Dau Sub-district Head, Ibu Desi, the Dau Police Chief, and the Dau Military District Commander, accompanied by village and hamlet heads from various areas in Dau District. Furthermore, representatives of Islamic boarding schools throughout Dau District and the PC LDII Dau were available, creating a meeting space that brought together various elements of society in the spirit of brotherhood.
The agenda was attended by Ustaz Dr. Ali Wahyudi as Chairman of Thursina IIBS and Ustaz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., Ed.D., as the CEO of Thursina IIBS. The leaders of Thursina, the directors, principals and female students of Thursina took part in the series of events as well with great solemnity.
The presence of leaders from some sectors is a tangible reflection of Thursina's commitment to foster meaningful relationships and long-term institutional partnerships with various elements of society. In his sermon, K.H. Drs. Abdul Malik emphasized that Ramadan is the best opportunity to strengthen social ties and build harmony within society.
"Ramadan is the best opportunity to strengthen ties and relationships among religious scholars, the umara (religious leaders), and the community. When this communication and togetherness are maintained, Insya Allah, social life will proceed peacefully and blessedly."
He also emphasized the vital role of Islamic boarding schools and educational institutions in developing a future generation, balancing intellectual intelligence and spiritual strength.
"Islamic boarding schools and educational institutions play a strategic role in building a generation that is not only intellectually excellent but also strong in faith and morals. When religious scholars, the government, and educational institutions work with a unified vision, the welfare of the community will be more effortlessly realized." The ambience of togetherness was even more palpable when all the invited guests broke the fast together and continued the dialogue in a warm, family setting. The moment became a space fostering relationships among community leaders while developing social cohesion and institutional collaboration in the Dau District area.
The agenda has reaffirmed Thursina IIBS role not only as an educational institution but also as a trusted partner within the community, actively building bridges of collaboration in the midst of religious scholars, the government, and the community to create a harmonious and blessed social environment.
