Alif Cryptovan, Santri IIBS Thursina Yang Berhasil Meraih Student Exchange ke Paris

Alif Cryptovan Sinaga, a student of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), recently achieved as an exchange student to Paris, France, for ten months.

It was barely easy for him to reach this point. He, coming from Medan, had to go through a rigorous selection process from the Rotary Club, including administrative requirements such as CV and report card, essay writing, interviews, and focus group discussions (FGDs). The process took approximately three months.

"Every selection stage was truly challenging yet insightful. In writing essays and discussion simulations, I learned a lot about how to communicate ideas effectively," he, called Alif, said.

Thursina IIBS provides full support through intensive guidance for CV, essay writing, interview practice, and focus group discussions (FGDs). According to teachers, the programs align with enrichment of students' portfolios. By participating in student exchange programs, they are able to gain numerous benefits, including international exposure, networking, foreign language skills, leadership development, and volunteering.

The success of the Jakarta-born student, on September 10, 2008, in passing this program has made IIBS Thursina proud. Thursina sees the attainment as proof that boarding school students do not prevent someone from achieving academic success and international experience.

"The education system in Europe, including France, is known as one of the best in the world. This chance will provide a valuable learning experience for him," said Ustadz Febryan Yustiadi, M.Pd., the Vice Principal for Student Affairs.

The program is in line with Thursina IIBS mission of being internationally minded. Alif is expected to inspire his fellow students with his experience of studying in Paris.

"Upon his return, we hope Alif can share his story and benefits of the program, and also encourage his juniors to follow his gaining," added Ustadz Bryan.

Later, Thursina IIBS is committed to expand the exchange program to more students. Alif is just the beginning. His story proves that islamic boarding school students are able to go global, with their Islamic identity and passion for learning to the international stage. (Iz/lil)
