Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) reaffirmed its position as a prestigious educational institution through the 2026 International Project-Based Learning (IPBL) Exhibition. Held midway through the even semester, the event provided a platform for students in grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 to demonstrate their curated projects as a representation of their comprehensive final exam.
The exhibition was meticulously curated, beginning with a solemn opening ceremony, followed by an open booth session, showing international exposure for visitors and the panel of judges. Each student was challenged to articulate their ideas, encompassing aspects of methodology, conceptualization, and final product execution.
The diversity of works on display reflects the progressiveness of the curriculum at each level. The seventh-grade students demonstrated intercultural awareness of global environmental issues through recycled products based on the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). Meanwhile, eighth-grade students presented aristocratic models that integrated cultural heritage with sustainability and modern technology.
On the senior secondary level, intellectual depth becomes even more apparent. Grade 10 explores the STEM field with a focus on a healthy lifestyle as part of the responsibilities of global citizenship. Meanwhile, grade 11 presents sophisticated problem-solving solutions, involving laboratory testing, rigorous data analysis, and the development of ready-to-use prototypes.
Ustaz A. Ali Syihabuddin, S.Si., M.Pd., the Principal Academic of Thursina IIBS, emphasized that IPBL is a key instrument in developing a sharp cross-cultural mindset.
"Through IPBL, we facilitate students to go beyond the limits of conventional theory. We want them to have the capability to apply real solutions amidst global dynamics. This process is the essence of intellectual cultural immersion; training them to collaborate in global networks and to bravely deal with the complexities of the world with composure and intelligence," he said.
Furthermore, Ustaz Syihab emphasized that the exhibition provides a crucial space for reflection to foster intercultural awareness. This project-based experience is believed to have a profound impact due to the direct involvement in every phase of project management, from initiation to final evaluation.
With the implementation of the IPBL Exhibition 2026, Thursina IIBS once again shows its commitment to implement relevant, world-class education.
