Briefing the Alumni over College Life, Tazkia IIBS Held Pre-University Orientation

In the beginning of university study, Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) held Pre-University Orientation webinar on Saturday, September 26 and October, 3 2020. It was aimed for Tazkia students who accepted in domestic Public and Private Universities, to brief them before leading college life further.

Several materials provided in the webinar, starting from Opening Speech by Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., Organisation and Politics Dynamics in the University by Ustadz Ir. H. Sentot E. Parijanto, M.T., The Relevancy of Boarding School Values in the University by Ustadz Muhammad Ali Wahyudi, M.Pd., Successful to be Academician and Activist in the University by Ustadz Eko Nurhaji Purnomo, M.Pd., Movement and Thought on College Life by Ustadz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd., and Socialisation of Alumni Award Program by Ustadz Sabar Arifin, S.T.

The CEO of Tazkia, Ustadz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., conveyed his pride to those accepted in Indonesian private and public universities. College life would made them meet new communities from diverse backgrounds, however, he advised to keep the brotherhood and cooperation among alumni as well as intention to learn because of the blessing of Allah SWT.

   

He, furthermore, emphasised  that a figure as boarding school alumni would stay as its value and meaning in it. One of them is obedience to teacher. It will differ between ordinary college student and "mahasantri", who tend to be a mover and inspiration in  community.

"All things done should have worship value and the main role is to prospere this world. It is the main mission of mahasantri," he said. The Director of Academic of Tazkia, Ustadz Eko Nurhaji Purnomo, M.Pd., shared his experience to become successful academician and activist in college. He explained that students should know the background of each organisation, including external organisation or internal organisation such as majoring student association, student executive organisation, student activity units, and so on.

"It is advisable to select external student organisation based on our parent preferences" he told. Basically, there are some conditions divided into four categories of priority and need scale, including important-urgent, important-not urgent, unimportant-urgent, unimportant-not urgent.

To have effective college life, students need to be in the third category because those in this category have good time management and priority scale. Therefore, they could balance between learning and leisure time.

   

"The key of success includes in the activity plan and our commitment to learn," he stressed. Closing the webinar session, the Director of Relation and Enrolment of Tazkia Ustadz Sabar Arifin, S.T., explained about alumni award program, as a support for alumni who achieve with certain reward. This program, furthermore, as an opportunity to communicate and contribute to Tazkia as its graduates.

"Hopefully, they could inspire their juniors through various accomplishments attained in college," he closed the statement.
