Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) has, again, sent a delegation of students to Japan on a Da'wah Safari program as part of its international da'wah cadre program. It aims to expand the field of da'wah and build students' firsthand experience interacting with Muslim communities abroad.
The Da'wah Safari included a series of Islamic activities, including imam and preacher, delivering religious sermons, sharing Ramadan lessons, and fostering friendship with the Muslim community and the Indonesian diaspora in Japan. It took place at several mosques and Islamic community centers, hubs for the Muslim minority in Japan.
The coordinator of the Da'wah Cadre Development Program, Ustadz Syaikhul Islam, explained that the program maintains the character and leadership development of Islamic students. "This Da'wah Safari is not just about delivering sermons, but also about developing courage, social sensitivity, and readiness to preach in various cultural contexts. Japan provides a valuable learning space because Muslims are a minority there," said Ustadz Syaikhul Islam.
He added that the experience of preaching abroad shapes the mentality of students to be more adaptive, communicative, and have a global perspective in understanding the community.
Furthermore, interaction with the Muslim community in Japan also opened up new perspectives on the challenges of preaching in a country with diverse social and cultural backgrounds. "They learn that preaching requires wisdom, a wise approach, and the ability to build good relationships with the surrounding community," he said.
The Da'wah Safari program is Thursina IIBS commitment to prepare a generation that is not only strong in religious knowledge, but also ready to take a strategic role in da'wah on the international level.
Students are expected to uphold the values of Islam, which is a blessing for the world, and to be representatives of Muslims with noble morals, knowledge, and global competitiveness. (lil)
