Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) inaugurated the Science Laboratory of the female campus, "AVICENNA Lab," on Tuesday (July 30th), as a strategic move toward its vision of becoming the Center of Excellence. The Grand Opening was led by the CEO of Thursina IIBS, who delivered an inspirational message to all students, teachers, and invited guests.
Beginning his remarks, the CEO of Thursina IIBS invited all audiences to express gratitude to Allah SWT. "The blessings we are grateful for will be increased by Allah," he said, referring to God's promise in the Quran. "One of the great blessings is the establishment of a modern science laboratory within our beloved Islamic boarding school."
In a warm and visionary welcome, he shared his experiences from visits to the United States, including to the world-renowned universities like Harvard and MIT. "I saw firsthand how science and technology are being developed massively there. However, our task is how to make science not only advanced but also integrated with Islamic values," he said.
The CEO of Thursina IIBS emphasized the importance of emulating the example of great scientists of Islamic civilization such as Avicenna, Al-Biruni, and Averroes. Therefore, the laboratory was officially named the "AVICENNA Lab," a symbol of hope to build a generation of excellent Muslim scientists. "The lab must become a crucible of learning. A place for you to forge yourselves, combining faith and knowledge, morality and reason," he emphasized.
Closing his remarks, the CEO advised all students to always use the Quran as the primary reference in every learning process. "Every time you enter this lab, instill the intention. Never leave the Quran as your compass in exploring knowledge," he told enthusiastically. He ordered a collection of Islamic literature, supporting the integration of religion and science.
The inauguration of the AVICENNA Lab strengthens Thursina IIBS position as a modern Islamic educational institution which is academically excellent as well as oriented to character building, the 21st century skills and a culture of scientific research among students. (sls/lil)
