To build a generation of visionary Muslim leaders, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) once again presents a flagship program entitled ELITE Camp x IGSN Malaysia 2025, held at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) on October 1–4, 2025. The intensive training program is a collaboration between Thursina's Specialization Program and the International Global School Network (IGSN) Malaysia which is designed to hone 21st-century skills among the 11th-grade high school students.
ELITE Camp itself is an acronym for Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Innovation, Technology, and Empowerment. Each aspect of the program is transformed in camp activities such as workshops, pitching sessions, and educational city tours.
Ustazah Nunun Zainun, Lc., M.Ag, Ph.D., the Head of Moslem Scholar Department, said the agenda is a forum for developing the character of Muslim leaders who are able to think critically, communicate effectively, and innovate without abandoning spiritual and moral values. "This is where students learn how to package ideas with courage, logic, and empathy, just like world leaders who are born from deep thinking and sincere intention," she explained.
During the four-day event, the participants engaged in challenging activities, from Building Future Leaders through Effective Communication, Digital Marketing and Dakwah for Gen Z, to ELITE Pitching Day, where they had to present their innovative ideas to an international panel of judges.
ELITE Camp does not stop at training; it also instills the values of social awareness and emotional intelligence through reflection sessions and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Each participant is guided to explore their potential in strategic areas such as business, technology, science, social studies, and leadership. The event concludes with the awarding of completion certificates and portfolios, equipping students to advance into the global professional as well as academic world.
The collaboration with IGSN Malaysia enriched the experience of Thursina students. In addition to ELITE Camp, they participated in a series of international competitions in IGSN, from calligraphy, recitation, speech, and cultural performances themed "Bridging Cultures, Forging Friendship Across Borders." Through these activities, Thursina aims to affirm its position as an Islamic educational institution, ready to compete on the global stage.
Ustazah Nunun, furthermore, expressed her hope that ELITE Camp would become a milestone in fostering a generation of Muslim intellectual leaders who are proficient in knowledge, strong in character, and have a spirit of dakwah. "We want the Thursina students to not only excel academically but also to carry the message of Islam, a blessing for the world in every single work and contribution," she concluded. (iz/lil)
