Students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) participated in the 2025 World Muslim Scout Jamboree. Officially titled the World Muslim Scout Jamboree (WMSJ) 2025, it was held at the National Scout Campground in Cibubur, Jakarta, from September 9–14, 2025. The event brought together Muslim Scouts from various regions and countries to foster brotherhood, leadership, and a spirit of peace through integrated camping activities.
According to the committee, WMSJ 2025 is a large-scale gathering marking a historic moment for Muslim Scouting. Information shared on the official WMSJ channel indicates the attendance of more than 15,300 participants from 16 countries. This year also coincides with the 100th anniversary of Gontor as the initiator and host of the events.
During the jamboree, participants were involved in thematic programs, cultural, peace, adventure, and water activities in the campgrounds, as well as off-site programs focused on community, nature, technology, and science. The event concluded with a Culture Festival Day and a closing ceremony on September 13, 2025.
The Deputy Head of Student Affairs of Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Febryan Yustiadi, S.Pd., emphasized the importance of student involvement in this international event. "We encourage students to use the jamboree as a training ground for cross-cultural leadership—courageous to interact, confident in carrying their Indonesian Muslim identity, and showing good manners of Islamic boarding school scouts on the international stage," he said.
He added the experience of camping with thousands of Scouts from many countries develops independence, teamwork, and discipline. Also, the students learn to expand their network of brotherhood and practice Islamic values ​​in a diverse global environment, so they return home with not only activity badges but also more mature insights and character.
The school stated that participation in the WMSJ 2025 will be integrated into extracurricular scouting activities and leadership programs within the boarding school. Thursina IIBS believes the jamboree provides main training for students as young ambassadors, upholding the good name of the Islamic boarding school and Indonesia, while exploring future scouting collaborations.
