Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) has demonstrated its commitment to develop excellent, professional, and adaptive human resources. It is realized through the annual Thursina IIBS Human Resources Experiential Visit & Unit Gathering event, held on October 16–17, 2025.
The event was attended by all educational and support staff, as well as teachers of male and female Thursina campuses, aiming at developing professional insight while intensifying collaboration among work units.
In the Experiential Visit, on October 16th, all staff members were assigned to some institutions and corporations based on their expertise areas. It included Ciputra University, Hang Tuah University, Western Sydney University, the University of Surabaya, Bank Mandiri, Jawa Pos, and Juanda Airport.
Each location serves as a learning space for benchmarking best practices in the professional world, from education management and public service systems to digital branding and modern security management.
Ustazah Dian Asmi Setoningsih, M.Pd., said the agenda is not just a working visit, but part of a human resource development strategy based on tangible experiences. "This experiential visit is designed to allow all staff to directly observe the work standards, organizational culture, and innovations of other institutions. Therefore, they can be inspired by concrete examples to apply in the context of modern Islamic boarding schools like Thursina," explained Ustazah Dian.
"The destinations are divided specifically so that each unit truly gains enlightenment relevant to its field," she added.
Meanwhile, on October 17, 2025, all personnels engaged in Unit Gatherings, conducted separately based on their work units. Several groups chose different tourism spots and activities, such as Meneng Beach in Banyuwangi, Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, Trans Snow World Surabaya, and Santerra de Laponte. "Unit Gatherings are not only for refreshment, but also part of emotional bonding among team members to create a more solid and harmonious teamwork," said Ustazah Dian.
Furthermore, these two agendas offer a momentum to strengthen a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented work culture. Participants are expected to implement their learning experiences in the field to improve Thursina's internal systems and services, including academics, administration, and student services. All human resources are upgraded to persistently learn from real-world practices and translate these into the context of modern Islamic education through experiential learning approach.
Ustazah Dian hopes that Experiential Visit & Unit Gathering will recharge all of Thursina's human resources. "We want the staff to not only return with renewed enthusiasm but also bring innovative ideas to build a more professional, humane, and inspiring institution," concluded the Chief of Human Capital Management.
