The Dutch Da'wah Safari by students of Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) was successfully carried out for 12 days, from March 18 to April 1, 2026. It is part of the international agendas in spreading Islamic values while expanding the insights of student da'wah on the global stage, especially in the European region.
The Ramadan event focuses on promoting Islamic propagation within the Muslim diaspora. Furthermore, it aims to introduce the riches of Islamic knowledge to the local community and strengthen the role of Islamic students (santri) as ambassadors of Islamic propagation, promoting the values of moderation and rahmatan lil 'alamin (blessing for the universe).
During the program, the students were actively involved in various religious and educational programs. Including teaching in the Al-Quran Education Class (TPQ), teaching the Quran, tahsin (recitation) and tadarus (recitation of the Quran), and fun Islamic outreach activities, all presented in an engaging and interactive way. The program also included a short Islamic boarding school program for Muslim children and teenagers in the Netherlands.
The event facilitator, Ustaz Muber, M.Pd., said that this Da'wah Safari was a valuable experience for the students in understanding the dynamics of da'wah in the international environment.
"It provides a platform for students to learn to adapt, understand different cultures, and deliver preaching that is wise and relevant to local conditions," he said.
The Arabic teacher added that the month of Ramadan is a strategic momentum to develop spiritual values while expanding the impact of da'wah.
"We want to create a vibrant Ramadan, not only for the Muslim community there, but also as a learning tool for students to develop a global perspective in preaching," he added.
Through the Dutch Da'wah Safari, Thursina IIBS hopes that the students can grow into a generation that not only excels academically, but also has concern for the people and the ability to preach in various contexts. (lil)
