Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) was honored with the visit of renowned Islamic scholar Prof. Dr. Yahya Zaenul Ma'arif, Lc., MA., Ph.D., known as Buya Yahya, from Al Bahjah Center. His sermon to the students was an unforgettable moment filled with advice, warmth, and heartwarming.
In a solemn atmosphere, Buya Yahya delivered a fundamental message to all students to always be grateful for the blessing of being in the Islamic boarding school. He said, not everyone gained the opportunity to be forged in an environment full of values, knowledge, and manners. "You are the chosen ones. While your peers are busy with the outside world, you are in the Islamic boarding school, guarding your heart and morals. Be grateful for that. And don't forget to thank your parents who have chosen this path for you," said He.
More than gratitude, he invited the audiences to engage in a deep reflection: apologizing to their parents for any past mistakes. In a gentle yet touching voice, he reminded them that many children unknowingly hurt their parents through their words or actions.
"Have you ever argued ? Have you ever made your mother cry? Have you ever disappointed your father? Apologize, today. Even if you can't say it directly, pray for them in prostration," he advised, leaving many students bowing their heads and sobbing. The main message was the importance of parent blessings and prayers in gaining mercies in life. Buya Yahya emphasized that no matter how great a child is, without parents' blessings and prayers, life will be empty and hard to achieve true success.
"If you want to live a blessed life, go home with prayers. Don't step out without the blessing of your father and mother. They are an open path to God's help," said Buya. His visit was a moment of contemplation for all students and teachers in Thursina IIBS. The participants seemed immersed in an atmosphere of heartwarming and enthusiasm to improve themselves. Many of them immediately contacted their parents to express their thanks, apologize and ask for prayers.
With the visit of Buya, Thursina IIBS hopes the students will better understand the meaning of gratitude, etiquette towards parents, and the significance of establishing a close relationship with them.
