Inspirational programs are persistently promoted in Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), one of which is Leadership Camp, a development program designed to foster leadership character early. It is a strategic step in preparing students to resolve future challenges, both within the Islamic boarding school and wider community.
Ustadz Hendika Wicaksana, S.Pd., the Coordinator of Thursina Student Association (TSA) and Leadership, explained that the program would build the foundation of leadership from a productive age. The participants, male and female students, are equipped with the values, skills, and character of a leader.Â
 
The Leadership Camp in Thursina IIBS will be conducted in some stages, consisting of three levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced. Each level offers different materials. In the basic level, students will be involved in a series of activities, including leadership seminars, interactive worksheets, and assignments for assessment. The materials provided are diverse, including self-skills and management (self-management and emotional management), time management, as well as introduction to leadership and organizational concepts.
 
Beyond theory, students are encouraged to develop social skills through outbound agenda, designed to instill basic social etiquette, polite communication, cooperation, and empathy among others. "The physical activities train psychomotor and kinesthetic skills. That's where the seeds of leadership begin to grow," explained Ustadz Hendika.
What is more interesting was the Marching Training (PBB), featuring trainers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Discipline, obedience to instructions, and assertiveness were the key components. Ustadz Hendika said, the PBB was not just about marching, but also about character development and mental fortitude.
 
"The basic-level program is held in the boarding school area, while intermediate and advanced level activities might be executed outside the school to enhance the atmosphere and challenges," he added.
The Leadership Camp is a monumental event, a long-term process with lasting impression and broader impact. Ustadz Hendika hopes that the leadership of students will stand out in school as well as in society. The spirit of RECODING (Religious, Caring, Open-Minded, and Inspiring) would become a value enlived daily. (sls/lil)
