Also, she emphasized that Santri Day represents the state's recognition and appreciation of the strategic role of Islamic boarding school students (santri) in maintaining and contributing to the independence of Indonesia. She said, throughout history, Islamic boarding school students have not only diligently pursued knowledge but also been ready to uphold truth and justice and protect the nation from potential threats (indirect quote from the speech).

She, furthermore, advised today's Islamic boarding school students to vigorously learn to benefit themselves and society while maintaining a sense of responsibility for the nation. Efforts to safeguard the nation, she said, begin with preparing oneself to become excellence in faith, morals, and knowledge (indirect quote). "Once Islamic boarding school students become leaders, with the strength of faith, noble morals, and advanced knowledge, they will be fair and always stand on the side of truth," Niswati said.
