Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) is accelerating its educational transformation efforts by holding the Samsung Digital Lighthouse School (SDLS) Bootcamp on November 19–21, 2025. This collaborative program with Samsung For Edu is a strategic momentum for Thursina in achieving the technology-based learning ecosystem for teachers and school leaders.
The CEO of Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Nur Abidin, M.Ed., Ph.D (Cand.) emphasized that digital transformation is an urgent need for modern education.
"We want to ensure that all teachers and education personnel have strong technological literacy, because the future of education rests on digital creativity and ability to manage adaptive learning," explained Ustaz Abidin.
The bootcamp kicked off with leadership training for unit leaders focused on building a digital ecosystem through the 5 Pillars of Digital School. Participants were introduced to the PDCA strategy, digital performance management, and innovative learning environment management.
On the second and third days, the focus shifted to teacher training through a series of workshops on Samsung Galaxy Tablet devices. Teachers were trained in the use of Samsung Notes, AI-assisted teaching prompts, creating instructional videos, digital drawing, and implementing Augmented Reality as a teaching medium. Training in modern pedagogical techniques such as the SAMR Framework, gamification, and project-based learning was also provided to strengthen teachers' abilities in designing innovative learning.
All activities were conducted using a blended learning approach through Samsung For Edu platform. Teachers not only practiced operating the devices but also learned how to integrate technology into meaningful pedagogical contexts. Ustaz Muhammad Rajab, M.Pd.I., Chief of Education, showed his appreciation for the teachers' commitment to the program.
"This SDLS Bootcamp is a basic foundation. We want every classroom at Thursina IIBS to be a vibrant, creative, and digital learning space, without abandoning the spirit of Islamic education," explained Ustaz Rajab.
The SDLS Bootcamp program received a positive response from teachers. They noted that the training opened new perspectives on how technology can improve the effectiveness of daily learning. Thursina aims to accelerate the implementation of Digital School Roadmap and encourage a culture of innovation at all levels.
In the final session, the management expressed hopes for the long-term impact of the program. Through the integration of technology, visionary leadership, and teacher creativity, Thursina is optimistic about building an excellent, adaptive, and global generation.
"Hopefully each of these efforts will be a charity and bring Thursina closer to its vision as a center of excellence for modern Islamic education," concluded Ustaz Abidin. (iz/lil)
