Borong Juara, Santri Thursina IIBS Bersinar di Ajang Robotik OLIMAWISA 2025

Pride once again envelopes Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) as students from Thursina Middle School successfully achieved outstanding results in the robotics competition at the 2025 Indonesian Junior High School/Islamic Junior High School Achievement Festival (OLIMAWISA) organized by SMK Telkom Malang. They proudly gained three awards: the second place, the third place, and the Medal of Excellence, demonstrating their quality and hard work in the field of modern technology.

The awardees are Gilang Fajar Khoirunas and Gavyn Darrel Reistian (8th grade); attained the second place, Alfarizki Fahlevi and Arkharega Aqeel Rafiandra (7th grade); got the third place. Furthermore, the achievement was enhanced by the Medal of Excellence secured by the 8th-grade couple students, Muhammad Fakhri Syauma Rikza and Aqila Gavin Fernadi.

The achievement is an honor since it demonstrates Thursina consistency in educating students to excel in prestigious competitions. Ustaz Febryan Yustiadi, S.Pd., the Vice Principal of Student Affairs at Thursina IIBS, revealed the students have undergone a long preparation process. "Practice is held each Saturday for approximately two months. Three days before the competition, they receive a class leave permit to fully focus on the training", said Ustaz Bryan.

The intensive training strategy has made the students more technically and mentally prepared for the competition. It is even more special because for some of the students, it was their first victory in a national robotics competition. The recent success provides a promising starting point for future achievements.

"Thursina IIBS is quite concerned with the development of robotics and coding. We realize this through specific enrichment programs and regular participation of students in competitions. It is crucial for developing a portfolio of outstanding students," added Ustaz Bryan.

Additionally, the teacher, an alumnus of Malang State University, delivered deep appreciation and encouragement to the winners. "Congratulations to you on this achievement. It is a testament to your hard work, creativity, and eagerness for learning. May this inspire you to continue innovating, study harder, and never be complacent. Remember, the true victory lies in discipline, teamwork, and an unyielding spirit," he said.

The attainments at OLIMAWISA 2025 are a great inspiration for other students. The success of Gilang, Gavyn, Alfarizki, Arkharega, Fakhri, and Aqila shows that with determination and consistent support, they are able to compete in the technology fields that will be required in the future. Thursina IIBS is increasingly committed to educating a generation that is not only strong in faith but also excels in science and technology. (Iz/lil)
