Tazkia IIBS Teacher Won Silver Medal in International Astronomy Competition 2020

Once again, achievement of Tazkia International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) teacher, Ustadz Yuda Prima Hardianto, M.Si, who won silver medal in Celestia International Astronomy Quiz Competition 2020 held by Nalanda College Astronomical Society, Sri Lanka. More than a hundred participants from 17 countries took part in the competition. The accomplishment has become an opportunity for him to foster self-confidence of students to compete globally.

Ustadz Yuda revealed that the procedure of the competition run as other competitions except the use of english language in the essay. It has become a challenge for the physics teacher because he should answer the questions in english.

   

 "I get use to learn, eventhough not in competition, by doing exercise of olympiad  or reviewing physics and astronomy basic theories" he said.

Basically, he, coming from Madiun, really likes physics and astronomy, especially for cosmology which is related with the creation of the universe, in that he is eager to enter in the competition of the field. Furthermore, they are associated with tauhid thus it strengthens his belief in Allah SWT. 

"It was new experience for me to compete with foreigner. I am more convinced that we have the potential to be superior and bring prosperity to the people, ”he says.

   

The teacher, the head of laboratory of Tazkia IIBS, also explained the prominence of competition for students. It can enhance self confidence of students in learning. When students have no confidence, they will become lazy and bored.

Ustadz Yuda, moreover, invites teachers of Tazkia to develop their abilities to become more inspiring and support students to excel. Therefore, students should cherish positive values taught more.

"Students have various characteristics and personalities; one of the ways to attract their attention is to be outstanding teachers thus we can be closer to them and students are willing to accept our advise.
