Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) reaffirmed its commitment to build a generation of achievers with a global perspective by launching the Thursina Fellowship Program on Saturday (September 20, 2025). It is a special scholarship for students who wish to continue their studies at the national and international universities.
Ustaz Muhammad Suhaili, S.Pd., the Manager of Thursina Award & Scholarship, explained that the fellowship program not only offers motivation but also tangible support for students. "The Thursina Fellowship Program is a scholarship for students who are determined to continue their studies abroad," explained Ustaz Suhaili.
"For the 2025 academic year, we have launched this program by providing travel allowances, a monthly stipend, and tuition fee discounts through a collaborative scheme between the institution and a number of universities," he added.
Furthermore, the program included a departure ceremony for students continuing at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and some universities in Indonesia. During the event, the scholarship awardees signed a commitment to serve at Thursina, while receiving training and sharing success tips from alumni who had already completed their studies at the university.
Ustaz Suhaili added that his office will conduct broader outreach regarding the scholarship scheme in the future, including detailed information about the opportunities, registration procedures, and a list of university partners of Thursina IIBS.
"By the way, students can prepare themselves early in a more focused approach," he said.
Thursina IIBS hopes that scholarship awardees will not only focus on personal achievement, but also become Thursina ambassadors, yielding a good name to the institution and providing more extensive benefits to the community. "They are role models, and we hope they will contribute to the development of Thursina and the wider groups," emphasized the member of Association of Indonesian Scholarship Network.
The manager of Thursina Award & Scholarship, moreover, added that this program is expected to encourage students, especially students of grade 12, to be more serious about improving their achievements.
"Next year, we want even more students to be accepted into partner universities, both at home and abroad. This program is here to facilitate and encourage them toward the goal," concluded the member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling. (iz/lil)
